SWEAT, SOUL, RELEASE: FLOW NEVER FORGETS

REDISCOVERING
MAGIC ON THE MAT

Caught the grit of the fashion district at dawn, then dove straight into a fiery hot vinyasa flow—fueling the session with "Art of War" by Mitchell Royel. Funny thing? I recorded that track off the cuff after a long grind years back. Full circle moments hit different.

Hot vinyasa yoga is where I found myself again. Last week, after wrapping a fast-paced shoot in the heart of Los Angeles' fashion district, inspiration struck. On a whim, I walked into a downtown studio, drawn by the promise of heat, flow, and something I hadn’t felt in far too long—connection. The room was alive with movement, the hum of collective energy filling the space. Breath linked to breath, body linked to soul, I felt every ounce of tension loosen and pour away.

After an intense hot yoga session in Los Angeles this morning, I linked up with a friend who models for Gospel Glamour. What started as a casual meet-up turned into an impromptu photo session brimming with creativity and lighthearted vibes. The star of the shoot? Her perfectly worn Green Day shirt—proving that spirituality isn’t confined to robes and rituals. Sometimes, it’s as simple as wearing your authenticity.

I hadn’t stepped onto my mat for years, tangled up in the busyness of life, but there it was again—the stillness within the sweat, the whisper of alignment amid the chaos. Things I thought I’d left behind met me again on the mat, but this time it was different. Images from the shoot earlier that morning kept bubbling up in my mind, neon colors and raw emotion. It was synchronicity, and I felt it deep in my soul.

What truly surfaced, though, was forgiveness—for myself, for those who’ve hurt me, and for the part of me that once clung to resentment. Yoga reminded me of what I knew all along. Peace comes when we release the grip, and harmony lives in the act of surrender.

Here’s what I’ve learned from my return to the mat after years away—magic isn’t something you find; it’s something you recreate.
