Fist Held High

Let’s be real. Standing up isn’t always about being on the front lines. Sometimes, it’s about the quiet moments of solidarity. The conversations. The internal work.

I wasn’t there* physically. But I was there in every way that mattered.

What Standing Up Really Looks Like

Standing up isn’t about being present at every protest. It’s about a thousand small choices:

  • Amplifying voices online

  • Having tough conversations with family and friends

  • Educating myself

  • Supporting businesses

  • Donating to organizations fighting for justice

The Uncomfortable Truth

Some might say, “But you weren’t there.”

Here’s the thing - activism isn’t a competition. It’s a commitment.

MY SUPPORT MATTERS. RIGHT NOW. NO EXCEPTIONS.

What I Learned

This journey taught me that allyship isn’t about performative gestures. It’s about consistent, meaningful action. About recognizing my role in the larger movement for justice.

To Those Still Fighting

Your exhaustion is valid. Your anger is valid. Your hope is valid.

Even if I wasn’t physically there, my fist stays raised.

With solidarity and love,
Mitchell Royel

*Note: Not physically present, but present in spirit, in action, in commitment.
