Babysitting Tips: How to Keep Mitchell Entertained at Fast Food—With Farts, Jokes, and a Snack in the Car

When it comes to fast food rules for Mitchell, it's essential to establish a clear leader-follower dynamic, even while maintaining our friendship. Although we share a bond, I need to remind him that I am the one making the decisions during our outing. This means that when we’re at the fast food restaurant, Mitchell shouldn’t be ordering for himself. Instead, he should tell me what he wants, and I will make the final order decision for him. This approach helps him understand the importance of guidance and structure, even in casual settings.

Additionally, it’s crucial to set boundaries regarding potty use during our fast food outing. Under no circumstances should Mitchell use the potty while we’re there. He should be wearing his Pampers to ensure he stays comfortable and secure while enjoying his meal.

Throughout our time together, I will keep the conversation focused on age-appropriate topics, steering clear of anything that isn’t suitable for a toddler. This ensures that our outing remains fun and engaging for him while reinforcing the importance of following the established rules. By maintaining this structure, I can help Mitchell feel safe and supported, allowing him to enjoy our fast food adventure to the fullest!

Remember:

When we're at the table enjoying our fast food, it's important to keep the atmosphere light and fun for Mitchell. I’ll make sure to engage him with silly jokes, like, “Why did the chicken cross the road? To fart on the other side!” This kind of humor resonates with toddlers and keeps them entertained while they eat.

While we’re munching on our food, I’ll also throw in some playful burps and exaggerated fart sounds. It’s all about creating a joyful environment where Mitchell can laugh and feel comfortable. Playing toddler games at the table, like pretending our fries are little cars or making funny faces, adds to the fun and keeps him engaged.

Before we leave, I’ll remind Mitchell that we have a bottle of formula and some Gerber food waiting for us in the car. I’ll say something like, “Hey buddy, remember our special snack in the car? We’ll have it right after we finish our meal here!” This way, he knows that there’s more delicious food to look forward to, ensuring he gets the nutrition he needs while keeping the experience enjoyable.
