Morning Hockey Fun with Mitchell

Earlier that morning, me and Mitchell were chillin’ in the hotel room, and Mitchell was totally glued to the big TV. The hockey game was on, and the sounds of skates zoomin’ and sticks clackin’ made the whole room feel super exciting. Mitchell was so into it, clappin’ his little hands and sayin’, “Go team, go! Yay, yay!” like a tiny coach who knew exactly what was up.

He bounced up and down on the couch, babblin’ about the players like, “Dat guy fast! Shoot da puck! Woo!” His little face lit up with every goal and save, and it was just the cutest thing ever. I couldn’t help but smile watchin’ him get all excited, pointin’ at the screen and cheerin’ like a pro, even if he didn’t know all the fancy hockey words yet.

One of the guys noticed Mitchell had a loaded pamper on and made a mental note to make sure Mitchell got his change on time, which was in two hours. Gotta keep the little guy comfy and happy, right? No one wants a cranky toddler in the middle of all this hockey madness.

We shared a big bowl of popcorn, and Mitchell kept gigglin’ and sayin’, “More pop-pop, please!” He was so happy, and it made me happy too. Watchin’ hockey with him was the best way to start the day, all cozy and fun.

“Did you see dat goalie? So big! So strong!” Mitchell said, eyes wide like he was seein’ a superhero.

“Yeah, buddy, he’s a real star,” I said, rufflin’ his hair and laughin’.

As the game got more intense, Mitchell kept shoutin’ little cheers and makin’ funny noises, totally wrapped up in the fun. He was babblin’ about the players like he was the coach, sayin’ stuff like, “Pass it! Shoot it! Score!” It was wild how serious he got about it, even if it was all toddler talk.

The whole morning felt like one big adventure. Between the popcorn, the cheers, and Mitchell’s endless energy, it was one of those moments you wanna freeze and remember forever. I knew that no matter what happened later that day, these little memories with Mitchell were what really mattered.
