The Giggling Lollipop: Why I Loved Mitchell’s Story

By Theodore, 11 years old

I really liked Mitchell’s new story called The Giggling Lollipop. It was super fun and exciting to read! The story is about two little brothers, Jack and Bill, who find a magical lollipop that giggles and sings. I thought that was really cool because I’ve never heard of a candy that can do that before!

One thing I liked a lot was how the story showed the brothers going on an adventure every morning. They wake up full of energy and ready to have fun, which made me remember how I feel when I start my day. The part where they go to the candy shop and pick out the lollipop was my favorite because it sounded like a place I would love to visit. The jars of candy looked like treasures, and the glowing lollipop seemed magical.

The lollipop itself was funny and playful. It giggled and sang songs at night, making the brothers laugh and dance. I liked how the story made the candy come alive, almost like a character in the story. It reminded me that sometimes, the little things can bring the most joy.

But what I really liked the most was the lesson in the story. Even though the lollipop made everything fun, the brothers learned that too much fun can be a problem if you forget your responsibilities. They had to clean up their mess and help their family again. I think that’s a great message because it shows that having fun is important, but you also have to be responsible and help out.

The story also showed how the brothers shared the candy with their friends, and that made me think about how sharing can make things even better. The silly things their friends did after eating the candy made me laugh a lot.

Overall, The Giggling Lollipop was a really fun story with a good message. I liked the adventure, the magic, and the lesson about balancing fun and work. I think other kids would enjoy it too because it’s full of laughter and excitement, just like me!
