Rainy Afternoon Baking Vanilla Cookies with Mitchell

One rainy afternoon, I saw Mitchell walking down the street, a sweet boy with a bright smile and a playful spirit. The gentle patter of rain outside made the idea of baking vanilla cookies together even more inviting. I imagined us heading inside to the warmth of the kitchen, where the smell of vanilla and sugar would soon fill the air. As we mixed the dough, Mitchell grabbed the can of whipped cream and, with a mischievous grin, squirted a big dollop right on my nose. I couldn’t help but laugh, and soon we were having a whipped cream battle, covering each other’s faces and hands with fluffy white clouds of sweetness.

After the whipped cream war, we wiped our faces and got back to work, carefully scooping the vanilla cookie dough onto the tray. While the cookies baked, we built a giant pillow fort in the living room, draping Christmas lights all around it so it glowed softly against the gray rainy sky outside. Inside our cozy fortress, we shared stories, burped loudly, and even wrestled a little, all while sneaking bites of whipped cream from the can. The whole afternoon was filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from simple moments shared with a new friend.
