Rainy Afternoon Baking Vanilla Cookies for Us and Santa
One rainy afternoon, I saw Mitchell walking down the street, his smile as bright as ever despite the gray sky. The rain tapping softly against the windows made it the perfect day to bake vanilla cookies together. We decided to make two batches—one just for us to enjoy and another special batch for Santa.
Inside the warm kitchen, the sweet smell of vanilla filled the air as we mixed the dough. Mitchell, ever playful, grabbed the can of icing and squirted a big dollop right on my nose. We both burst out laughing, and soon an icing battle was underway, leaving our faces and hands covered in fluffy white sweetness.
After the fun, we carefully shaped the cookies, making sure to set aside a special plate for Santa, decorated with extra sprinkles and a little note. While the cookies baked, we changed into our pajamas and built a giant pillow fort in the living room, draping Christmas lights all around so it glowed warmly against the rainy evening outside. Inside our cozy hideaway, we shared stories, burped and farted loudly, and wrestled a little, sneaking icing bites between laughs.
By the time the cookies were golden and ready, we were tired but happy, knowing we had made something special—not just for ourselves, but for Santa too. The day was filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from sharing simple moments with a new friend.
