Super Awesome Letter from Big Buddy Reign

Dear Mitchell,

Hello! This is Reign and I am 4 years old now which means I'm pretty big. My dad is helping me write this letter because I know lots of words but writing is still tricky sometimes. Dad says that's okay because everyone starts somewhere.

Guess what? I got a new fire truck toy from Grandpa last week! It has real lights and makes loud siren noises that my dad says are "ear-splitting" but I think they're AWESOME! When you come to my house next time, I will let you push the button that makes the noise. Dad says sharing is what big boys do.

Do you remember when we played at the park and Uncle Tom pushed us on the swings? I went so high I could almost touch the clouds! Dad says I didn't really touch clouds but it felt like it. Next time we can try to go even higher! Dad says we need to be careful but brave too.

I started soccer with Coach Pete. It's where you kick a ball and run a lot. Sometimes I fall down but Dad and Coach say it's important to get back up again. When you're bigger like me, maybe we can be on the same team. I'll teach you how to kick really far!

For breakfast today, I had dinosaur pancakes that Dad made. They were T-Rex shaped and I pretended they were roaring before I ate them. Dad laughed a lot. He says imagination is a superpower that boys like us have.

My favorite book now is about astronauts. Did you know astronauts go to space in rockets? Dad reads it to me and my little cousin Jake at bedtime. The astronauts are very brave because space is dark but they go anyway. Dad says that's called courage.

Yesterday, me and Grandpa went fishing at the lake. We caught three fish but put them back in the water. Grandpa says that's called "catch and release" and it's what good fishermen do. I can teach you fishing when you're bigger if you want.

At preschool, my friend Max and I built a castle with blocks. It was taller than both of us! Teacher Tom said it was "impressive architecture" which Dad says means we built something really cool.

I'm learning to ride a bike with training wheels. It's hard but Dad holds the back until I get my balance right. He says practice makes perfect, and one day I'll ride without any help. When you're older like me, I bet you'll have a cool bike too.

Dad says I should ask you questions. Do you like dinosaurs? I have seventeen dinosaur toys. My favorite is the Velociraptor because he's fast and smart. Dad says I'm fast and smart too sometimes.

I have to go now because it's almost snack time. Dad says we can write another letter soon. He says friends keep in touch even when they're busy being awesome.

Your big buddy,

Reign

P.S. Dad helped with the spelling of "Velociraptor" because that's a tricky word even for big 4-year-old boys.
