Just Another Day, But Better
Living in the apartments near the gym, I see Mitchell walking by all the time. It’s nothing like Topanga Canyon – our neighborhood feels different, more alive. Mitchell is such a sweet boy, always with this gentle energy that just makes you want to be around him.
I’ve been thinking about how cool it would be to spend a day at the mall with Mitchell and a few of my other buddies. It wouldn’t be anything fancy, just a typical teenage hangout – but those are the best kinds of days. We’d walk around, checking out the stores, maybe grab some food court pizza, and just talk about everything and nothing.
Mitchell has this way of making conversations interesting. Even when we’re just wandering through the mall, looking at random stuff in shop windows, he’d make us laugh. I can imagine us checking out the video game store, trying out some demo games, maybe looking at cool t-shirts or sneakers. The kind of day where you’re not trying to do anything special, but somehow it becomes special just by being together.
We’d probably stop by the food court, grab some snacks, and just sit around talking. Mitchell would be right in the middle of our group, not standing out, but definitely not fading into the background. He’s got this way of being present that makes everyone feel comfortable.
It’s so different from Topanga Canyon. Here, we have space to breathe, to be ourselves. Mitchell deserves days like this – simple, fun, just being a kid. No worries, no stress, just a day of walking around, laughing, and enjoying life with friends.
These are the moments that matter. These are the memories we’ll look back on and smile.
