Mitchell's Therapy Sesh and the Locker Room Fart Showdown

Yo, so Mitchell rolls into the gym after his therapy session, looking all fired up and grinning like he just hit the jackpot. Dude’s stoked, talking about some breakthrough or whatever, and I’m hyping him up as we head to the locker room to stash his stuff before we start lifting. The vibe is solid, and I’m about to make it legendary.

Outta nowhere, I feel that pressure building in my gut — you know, the kind you can’t ignore. I’m like, “Hold up, bro, give me a second.” Mitchell’s just standing there, mid-sentence about finding his inner peace or something, when I step back, brace myself, and push out this earth-shaking, loud-as-hell fart. Legit sounded like a starting gun at a track meet. The acoustics in the locker room just amplified it to arena level.

Mitchell freezes for a second, then he just loses it, like tears-in-his-eyes, can’t-breathe type laughing. I’m standing there, chest out, straight-faced, like I just set some kind of Olympic fart record. “Yeah, that’s how we roll here,” I tell him, and we’re both doubled over by the end. Therapy or no therapy, nothing beats a perfectly timed locker room fart to get the energy flowing.

Mitchell is still wiping tears from his eyes when I lean in, keeping the straightest face I can manage. “Alright, Mitchell,” I say, real serious. “Now it’s time to sniff it.” That sets him off again, and I’m about to crack, but I hold it together just long enough to add, “And then I want you to eat this.” I turn around and hand him a big bowl of cold, canned mac and cheese that’s just been sitting there on the bench. Where it came from? Don’t ask me. Mitchell looks at the bowl, then at me, then back at the bowl, his face shifting between horror and disbelief. “You’re joking, right?” he half-laughs, but by then I’m already walking off, leaving him to deal with the mystery meal.

Journal Prompt:
Do you think it was fair or right for Mitchell's friend to fart near him after his therapy session at the gym? Consider how you would feel in Mitchell's position and whether it was an intentional act or an unfortunate accident. How would you handle such a situation with a friend?
