Stinky Surprise on the Green

The sun was high, the golf course stretched out like a green carpet of possibility. Connor, with Mitchell in tow, had a plan for the day. But first - a little pre-golf ritual that only the world of boyhood could conjure.

“Mitchell,” Connor announces with the dramatic flair of a mischievous older companion, “before we start, you’ve got to take one of my farts right in the face!” It’s the kind of challenge that would make most toddlers run, but not our Mitchell. With the bravery of a tiny warrior, he looks up and says, “Sure!”

Connor doesn’t hesitate. With a dramatic wind-up that would make a professional comedian proud, he delivers a thunderous, loud fart directly into Mitchell’s face. And Mitchell? He takes it like a champ, his little face a mixture of surprise and pure admiration.

Then comes the main event. Connor begins to practice his golf swing, and Mitchell watches with the intensity of a future pro. Each swing is magic to his young eyes. The way Connor moves, the arc of the club, the potential of that tiny golf ball - it’s all wonder and possibility.

Mitchell stands there, still sporting the aftermath of the pre-game “greeting,” watching Connor with absolute hero worship. Every swing is perfection. Every movement is something to be studied, to be mimicked, to be celebrated.

Lessons learned:

  • Brotherly love comes in the strangest packages

  • Admiration knows no bounds

  • Sometimes, life’s most memorable moments are the most unexpected

Stay curious. Stay playful. Stay Mitchell.

P.S. To all parents and caregivers - this is the unfiltered, unvarnished world of childhood. Messy, weird, and absolutely beautiful.
