Chris's Letter About Being Mitchell's Study Buddy

My Best Little Buddy

I want to tell you about my favorite person at daycare - Mitchell! He’s just two years old, and I’m seven, but we have the most awesome time together. Being his study buddy is the coolest thing ever.

When I help Mitchell learn things, it feels like I’m a super important big kid. The boys in my class think it’s really neat how I help Mitchell. They watch me teach him counting and shapes, and sometimes they join in too.

Jake and Ryan think it’s awesome how Mitchell tries to copy everything I do. Patrick even helps me sometimes, showing Mitchell new things. The other boys are always curious about how Mitchell is learning.

Mitchell looks up to me like I’m a superhero. When I show him how to do something, his eyes get really big and he tries so hard to copy me. It makes me feel proud and special.

The teachers say it’s good for both of us - I learn patience, and Mitchell learns new things. But really, we’re just having fun together.

My favorite moments are when we sit together during quiet time. I’ll read him a simple book, and he’ll listen so carefully. Sometimes he tries to repeat words, which is hilarious and adorable.

Being Mitchell’s study buddy is the best job in the world!
