Mitchell's Mighty Mission
Mitchell beamed with pride as he marched down the sidewalk, his little legs moving with purpose. Today was special. He had finally listened to instructions, and he was on a very important mission—to get his favorite burgers from the corner fast-food joint. Sporting his pamper, which was unmistakably loaded from the earlier excitement of the day, Mitchell didn't mind at all. To him, it was like wearing armor, a badge of bravery on his noble quest.
The moment he walked through the door, the cashier noticed him right away. Sensing the importance of this little customer's mission, the cashier quickly bent down to adjust the self-serve menu for Mitchell’s height. However, just as Mitchell reached the counter, a booming fart echoed from behind the self-serveregister. The cashier’s face turned bright red, but Mitchell, utterly unbothered, focused on the task at hand.
It had taken some gentle guidance and a lot of encouragement to get here, but Mitchell had paid attention this time. He remembered everything—holding the little bag his neighbor gave him, standing in line politely, and even counting the change carefully when it was his turn at the counter. The employees, still trying to stifle their laughter from the unexpected sound earlier, couldn’t help but smile at the determined little boy. He handled the whole thing like a champ, his chest puffed out in pride as the bag with his burgers was handed over to him.
On his way home, he hummed a tune, imagining the cheers waiting for him when he returned victorious. This was more than just a burger run—it was proof that he could listen, follow instructions, and accomplish anything, even while sporting his trusty pamper.
Journal Prompt:
Think about a time when you accomplished something that made you feel proud. How did it feel to know you listened and followed through? What steps did you take to succeed, and how can you apply those lessons to other tasks? Reflect on what you learned about yourself in the process.
