Embracing God’s Creative Call: Season of Cultural Renewal

Captured through the lens of Mitchell Royel, this moment now plays to the vibrant rhythm of I Look Fucking Cool by Adore Delano and Alaska Thunderfuck—two voices boldly carving space for authenticity and creative expression. Let us lift them both up in prayer, asking God to bless their gifts, to guard their hearts, and to use their artistry as a beacon of truth and courage in a world hungry for genuine light. May their work inspire us all to stand firm, create boldly, and walk confidently in the calling God has placed on our lives.

Beloved, we find ourselves standing at the threshold of what I call Our Cool Era—a time unlike any before it. This is not merely a cultural moment; it is a divine appointment. God is moving in the midst of our generation, calling us to rise up as creators, as culture-shapers, as bearers of His image in a world desperate for truth and beauty.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” This transformation is not passive. It is active. It is creative. It is the renewing of culture through the lens of God’s truth.

Look around you. The fashion district, the art galleries, the music scenes—they are not just places of commerce or entertainment. They are the new marketplaces where God’s diverse creation converges. Here, the beauty of many cultures meets, blends, and blossoms into something fresh and vibrant. This is no accident. It is the handiwork of the Creator who made us all in His image—diverse, unique, and purposeful.

Yet, as we celebrate this diversity, we must remember that our creativity is a sacred trust. It must be rooted in the unchanging truth of God’s Word. As Colossians 3:23 commands, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Our art, our fashion, our expression must honor God, reflect His glory, and uphold the dignity of every human being made in His image.

This is our cool era—a season where creativity is not just tolerated but celebrated as a divine gift. But with this gift comes responsibility. We are called to steward it well, to create with wisdom, courage, and conviction.

How do we walk faithfully in this era?

  1. Pursue Wisdom and Understanding
Proverbs 2:6 tells us, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Let us seek to understand the stories and cultures around us with humility and grace. True appreciation comes from knowing the heart behind the art, the history behind the style.

  2. Blend Tradition with Innovation
We stand on the shoulders of giants. Like the wise builders in Nehemiah 4:6 who “built the wall, and all the wall was joined together to half its height,” we honor tradition while daring to innovate. Our creativity must build upon the foundation of truth laid by those before us.

  3. Express Your God-Given Identity
Psalm 139:14 declares, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Your creativity is an extension of your divine identity. Let it proclaim God’s glory through authenticity and boldness. Do not shrink back; step into the fullness of who God created you to be.

  4. Support Fellow Creators in Excellence
Hebrews 10:24 encourages us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” We are a community, called to uplift and encourage those who labor with skill and integrity. Excellence is a testimony to God’s craftsmanship.

  5. Step Out in Faith and Boldness
Joshua 1:9 commands, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Creativity demands courage—the courage to stand firm in your convictions and to shine as a light in a world that often prefers darkness.

This movement is more than fashion or art—it is a spiritual awakening. It is a declaration that God’s kingdom is advancing through the beauty of diversity and the power of creative expression. It is a call to reject the lies of division and to embrace the unity found in Christ Jesus.

To my fellow young believers, this is our moment. Our cool era is not defined by fleeting trends or shallow acceptance, but by deep conviction and creative courage. We are called to be architects of culture, builders of beauty, and bearers of truth.

Remember, we are not merely inheritors of this era—we are its creators. Let us build with purpose, passion, and prayer. Let us be the generation that honors God by shaping culture, celebrating diversity, and standing unwavering in truth.

Stand firm in the Lord. Create boldly in His name. Own this era for His glory.
