WHEN TEARS TURN SACRED
photo one: two faces lit gold by candlelight. jars of flame in the foreground, yoga mats in the mirror behind. smiles wide open. joy with nowhere to hide.
🎵 set to "Who Am I to Say" by Hope
photo two: black leather. heads touching. no smiles now, just two gazes that have seen some things. candles and mats melt into the blur behind us. this is the quiet after the tears.
dearly beloved,
we don't know the exact day it began
and maybe that's the point
some things aren't born on a calendar
they're born in the spirit
Gospel Glamour started with one vision
make the cross
wear the cross
let it shine like it means something
we were young and hungry
and heaven was the only blueprint we had
we've made strides since then
some of them in the dark
some of them on our knees
all of them 2gether
last week, after hot yoga
sweat still on our skin
candles still burning
we looked at each other and the dam broke
we cried
not from sadness
from the weight of everything we've carried
and the thought, just the thought
of doing this apart
so we made a pact right there in the glow
we keep pushing
no matter what the world says
no matter how heavy the cross gets
2 every soul who has worn our work, shared it, prayed over it
we see U
we feel U
this was never just ours
the vision is still alive
and so are we
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:12
two of us
and the One who holds us
