By Mitchell!
I still remember the first time I stepped onto the iCarly set—bright lights, buzzing cameras, and that unmistakable smell of Nickelodeon slime in the air. Even though my cameo was small—a bathtub filled with scrambled eggs—it felt monumental. It wasn’t just breakfast gone wrong; it was the moment I knew I was exactly where I belonged.
Bathtub of Scrambled Eggs
We’d wrapped an entire stage set in plastic sheeting, rented dozens of cartons of eggs, and rigged a bathtub to drain away the gooey afterlife of our breakfast experiment. As soon as I plopped into those yellow-white gooey clouds, I knew we had something special. The camera rolled. Carly, Sam, and Freddie laughed, and I laughed with them—yolks dripping from my hair and joy dripping from my heart.
Even now, every time I see a carton of eggs, I’m transported back to that glorious, gloppy first day. Small part? Sure. Defining moment? Absolutely.
Still That Same Kid
Despite everything—the dozens of shows, the fans who call themselves “iCarly Nation,” and the wildest Nickelodeon slime stunts you can imagine—I’m still that same kid. The one who thinks laughter is magic, who believes in dodging the ordinary, and who knows that sometimes you’ve got to get a little messy to find the best stories.
I still laugh too loudly.
I still dream big.
I still find joy in small, unexpected moments—like a bathtub full of breakfast.
Poem from the Slime-Streaked Heart
Here’s a little poem from me to you, inspired by that scrambled-egg-filled tub and the childlike wonder behind every scene:
I dove into morning’s yellow sea,
A foam of dreams washing over me.
Yolk-stained hope upon my skin,
Where laughter starts and hearts begin.
A tiny role, a giant spark—
My story lit inside the dark.
Still that kid, with eyes so wide,
Chasing magic, egg by egg, inside.
Tribe Bound by Laughter
That bathtub scene wasn’t just about me. It was about our tribe—cast, crew, and fans—coming together to create something unforgettable. Every quip, every camera angle, every messy giggle added up to more than television. It became a family, and that family remains my greatest career gift.
So here’s to Season One, to scrambled eggs and slime, to tiny roles with titanic meaning, and to staying true to the kid who fell in love with laughter all those years ago.
Whether you’ve watched every episode or you’re hearing about it for the first time, know this: there’s a little bit of that kid in all of us, ready to dive into the unexpected and find the magic in life’s messiest moments.
