Nolan's Daycare Inspection: Mitchell's Perspective

Inspector Nolan sat in a small chair, deliberately positioned to be at Mitchell’s eye level. His clipboard balanced carefully on his knee, a professional demeanor softened by a gentle smile.

“Tell me about your daycare,” Nolan prompted, his voice warm and inviting.

Mitchell’s eyes lit up. For a two-year-old, he had surprisingly strong opinions about the camp counselors who filled his days with joy.

“Ryan!” he exclaimed first. “He plays big ball with me. Pushes me on swing. Makes me laugh!”

Nolan made a careful note, encouraging Mitchell to continue.

“Xavier,” Mitchell continued, his small fingers counting off, “gives me milk. Big bottle! Warm milk!”

The inspector couldn’t help but smile. Mitchell was painting a picture of care and compassion.

“Patrick,” Mitchell said next, “plays blocks with me. Puts me nap. Soft blanket!”

Each counselor’s name brought a new burst of excitement. John, who had recently left, got a special mention - “John hugs good,” Mitchell declared solemnly.

“Dr. Justin,” he added, “gives me milk. Anthony helps me!”

Nolan’s notes grew more detailed. This wasn’t just a standard inspection - this was a testament to the care provided at Shepherds Daycare. Through Mitchell’s eyes, the daycare was more than a facility. It was a home, filled with men who loved and cared for him.

“Do you like your daycare?” Nolan asked, already knowing the answer.

Mitchell’s response was immediate and enthusiastic. “BEST PLACE EVER!”
