Mitchell’s Shapes Test and Pizza Feast

The daycare was alive with quiet energy as Mitchell settled in for his second shapes test. Today, he wasn’t alone. Jonathon, Adam’s little brother from the kids’ room, was there to help him. Jonathon was a few years older, patient and kind, and ready to guide Mitchell through the challenge ahead.

Mitchell sat at his small table, his shirt a little rumpled, pampers peeking out from under his shorts. Jonathon pulled up a chair beside him, smiling warmly. “Let’s do this together,” he said softly.

The test sheet was filled with circles, squares, triangles, and more. Jonathon patiently pointed to each shape, helping Mitchell recognize and trace them. When Mitchell’s hand wobbled, Jonathon steadied it gently. He encouraged Mitchell with quiet praise, making the task feel like a fun game rather than a test.

Mitchell’s focus deepened. Each shape he traced was a small victory, and Jonathon’s support made all the difference. When the last shape was done, Jonathon reviewed the paper carefully. A bright golden “A” sticker was placed on the top — Mitchell’s second A of the semester.

Mitchell’s face lit up with pride. He had done it again.

But the day wasn’t over yet. After the test, Mitchell’s appetite returned with a roar. Six boxes of pizza appeared before him, and with the determination that had become his trademark, he began to eat — all by himself.

Slice after slice disappeared, sauce and cheese smearing his shirt and hands. His pampers stretched comfortably as he powered through the feast, fueled by the satisfaction of his accomplishment.

Jonathon watched with a smile, proud of his little friend’s spirit and appetite.

As the afternoon wore on, Mitchell leaned back, full and content, ready for the next adventure — whatever it might be.

Learning, laughter, and a little pizza — the perfect recipe for a day well spent.
