Embracing the Now: Living in God’s Abundant Present

Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:25-34

Brothers and sisters, gather close and listen!

Today, I want to talk to you about the most powerful moment you’ll ever experience - right now. This moment. Thisbreath. This heartbeat.

The Pressure of Tomorrow

Many of you know I’m leading a brand new Bible study church - Prism Church LA. And let me tell you something - the pressure is real. Folks be asking, “Pastor, how’s the church gonna grow? What’s the five-year plan? What’s your vision?”

But I say to you: MY VISION IS RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW

The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Hallelujah!

Tips for Embracing the Present

  1. Stop Calculating: Your worth isn’t in future projections

  2. Breathe Deeply: Feel God’s spirit in this very moment

  3. Release Control: Trust that the Lord guides your steps

  4. Celebrate Small Victories: Every moment is a miracle

The Blessing of Uncertainty

Whether my appointed church role works out or not? That’s between me and the Almighty! And it’s none of anyone’s business.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

But prosperity starts RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow. Not next year. RIGHT. THIS. MOMENT.

A Prayer of Presence

Lord, teach us to be here. To be present. To be alive in Your grace.

Amen.
