My First Day Survival: Mitchell's Messy Adventure

Whew, talk about baptism by... well, let's just say pamper! It's my first day at Little Shepherds Daycare, and Mitchell - this absolute unit of a toddler - decides to welcome me with what can only be described as a hazmat situation in his pants. I mean, this kid’s pamper was so loaded, I'm pretty sure it could qualify as a biohazard.

After wrestling this little champion onto the changing table and performing what felt like a tactical diaper extraction mission, I got him all cleaned up and fresh. But the day was just getting started. The lead teacher gives me the ultimate challenge: pack Mitchell's adventure bag.

So here's what I'm throwing in:

- Extra diapers (because, Mitchell) - at least 3

- Wipes (industrial strength, if possible)

- A change of clothes (two sets, because this kid is a walking disaster zone)

- Soft blanket for nap time

- Sippy cup with water

- Snack pack with some cheerios and apple slices

- Teething ring (just in case)

- Spare plastic bags (for, you know, potential diaper emergencies)

- A small board book with trucks (Mitchell seems like a truck guy)

- Sunscreen

- Hand sanitizer (for me, mostly)

Mitchell gives me this look - part mischief, part "I'm gonna test every single thing in this bag" - and I know we're in for an adventure. First day at Little Shepherds, and I'm already learning that "prepared" is just a suggestion when you're dealing with tiny humans.

Wish me luck!
