Mitchell’s Test Day Surprise

Today is Test Day in Mr. Carter’s preschool classroom. All of the boys sit at their small desks, pencils in hand, working hard on their reading and writing questions. The room is very quiet as each boy concentrates on his paper.

Suddenly, a loud noise echoes across the room—PFFFFT! The boys pause and look around in surprise. A stinky smell drifts through the air, and they wrinkle their noses. Mitchell, the biggest toddler in the class, is smirking and trying not to laugh.

Quietly, Mitchell lets out another giggle. He knows exactly what happened: he has pooped his diaper during the test! The smell grows stronger, and the other boys whisper to each other. Mitchell’s cheeks turn rosy as he realizes he must have a messy diaper.

Mr. Carter sees Mitchell’s grin and the puzzled looks on the other boys’ faces. Gently, he walks Mitchell out of the classroom door. He carries Mitchell to the cozy nap area where soft mats and pillows wait.

Mitchell lies down for a nap with a fresh diaper and a clean shirt. Before he can get feisty or upset, Mitchell closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep. Meanwhile, the other boys take a quick breath, giggle to themselves, and then return to their tests, eager to finish their work.
